Tetra mesh method

CFturbo2ICEM offers two tetra-prism methods to mesh geometries designed in CFturbo.

Robust (Octree): The Robust (Octree) option will generate a tetra mesh using a top-down meshing approach. An Octree mesher does not require an existing surface mesh because one is created by the Octree process.

Quick (Delaunay): The Quick (Delaunay) option will generate a tetra mesh using a bottom-up meshing approach (Delaunay Tetra algorithm). This algorithm requires an existing surface mesh. If this has not yet been created, it will automatically create the surface mesh from the geometry using first the Robust (Octree) method.

Generally, meshes created with the Delaunay method have a better quality due to a smoother tetra size. Next images illustrate the mesh for an impeller with identical mesh parameters but different tetra-prism meshing methods.
